On the 21st of July 2022 Aqua-Holic Cleaning became a City & Guilds approved service. The comprehensive training course included the fundamental principles of Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities and the impacts within the exterior cleaning industry.
Knowledge and understanding of Biofilm was imparted and the skill to be able to identify the micro-organisms (moss and lichens) that affect exterior hard surfaces i.e., roofs, driveways, patios etc. We can now identify the cause and effect of biofilm activity. Training was also given to complete a site survey and formulate an action plan for the removal of biofilm. Knowledge and understanding of exterior cleaning products available to maximise the efficiency of professional use biocides was achieved and also knowledge was gained in the practical and safer application of chemicals using the correct equipment, techniques and treatment regimes.
We now have a thorough understanding of the application, effects, benefits and environmental responsibilities with regard to exterior cleaning chemicals, biocides and other products. The training course also included a ‘Chemical Spill Management’ module where at the conclusion a personal certificate was awarded. The training course concluded with a 1 hour exam and practical instruction of how to use a variety of equipment to apply cleaning chemicals and biocides safely.
